Leading the Way In Health and Safety Excellence

Our dedication to health and safety is ingrained in every aspect of our operations. Here’s how we ensure the utmost safety for our team and partners:

At SBL, our strong safety culture and ongoing team training ensure every crew member is equipped to uphold the highest safety standards because our people are our greatest asset.

While compliance with legislation is essential, we aim to go further. Our directors, Clayton and Blake, lead by example, driving a company-wide commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing. Safety is actively managed by Kate Summerville, who ensures our systems are maintained, effective, and continuously evolving.

We’ve implemented robust systems and practical policies that consistently identify and manage risk, creating a safe, secure work environment for everyone on site.

We’re proud of our progress, but we know there’s always room to improve. That’s why we carry out regular internal site audits and engage in external audits and pre-qualification processes to support continuous improvement and accountability.

SBL adopts environmental management principles that are broadly in line with ISO 14001:2015, Environmental Management Systems.

We specifically look to

Maximise Efficiency – Reduce waste through effective purchasing methods and operations, including reducing the misuse of resources (materials, energy, water), time, and money.

Minimise Harm – Minimise harm to individuals, the community, and the environment.

To maximise efficiency and minimize harm, the following actions are followed.

  • Proactively identify and manage the environmental impact of their work in line with LAWNNE environmental principles (Land, Air, Water, Waste, Noise, Energy)
  • Comply with all relevant environmental legislation, appropriate industry guidelines and standards, customers, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Actively promote and foster a culture of sustainability and environmental protection.
  • Consult with all parties affected by the works, ensuring subcontractors & suppliers share our sustainability culture.
  • Use products that minimise the impact on the environment.
  • Ensure spill control measures are in place before commencing work.
  • Have systems and procedures in place to reuse, repurpose, recycle, and reduce waste making efficient use of all resources.

“We all must continually seek ways to improve our practices for the betterment of the environment and community we live in.”
