Project Atom consisted of the installation of a new 4-strain Billet Caster and Ladle Metallurgy Furnace with an overall project budget of $56 Million.
As the head civil contractor we successfully undertook all forms of the build from;
- Extensive demolition of the existing concrete floors and foundations
- Excavation and prep for building works
- Piling
- Sheet piling
- Concrete foundations and floor slabs
- Large concrete support columns
- Construction of 10m high in situ concrete Billet Caster
- Construction of multiple masonry/concrete Transformer,Hydraulic, Electrical and Control Rooms
- Cooling Tower bunds
- Large scale roof replacement to Steel Plant
- Further enabling works
